EVENT DESCRIPTION
Join Waters End Academy’s first hunt for Monsters in and around Waters End. The history of Carlsbad is filled with stories of Ghosts, Witches, Vampires, and Werewolves. The village’s magic spring water and secret school for Witches and Wizards at Waters End act as a magnet for all sorts of scary creatures.
Supernatural activity is always at its greatest between the autumn equinox and Halloween. This year October includes two full moons – the transforming key for Werewolves. There will be a full moon during this Monster Hunt.
During the Monster Hunting event, students will participate in a guided walk around the parks, paths, and common areas of Waters End to search for signs of creatures of the night. The walk will include a lecture on the history, nature, and defenses related to Ghosts, wicked Witches, Vampires, and Werewolves. By understanding the beasts and their weaknesses, students can overcome their fear of them.
Students will participate in questions and answers, look for tracks and clues, identify suspect beasts, and then attempt to capture or drive them away. Students who don’t flee in horror and make it to the end of the event will earn extra school credit.
Students should take the 100-series introductory courses in Demons, Ghouls, and Monsters prior to the event.
EVENT PREPARATION
Students should meet and gather at Seashell Park at 6:30 PM. The walk will begin as soon as the sun is fully down – estimated departure 6:45 PM.
