Vampire Haunts Playground
The faculty at Waters End Academy has been alerted to sightings of a vampire at the local playground. Residents walking their dog late at night over the weekend reported seeing a mysterious woman dressed in black. She is said to have appeared out of a mist that arose from the trees along the fence separating the park and pool. The dog walkers approached the woman but their dog began barking loudly and she disappeared back into the darkness before they could identify her.
Another resident jogging alone after dusk on Tuesday night is reported to have met what appeared to be the same woman. This time the woman stepped out of the trees and beckoned to the jogger who claims to have felt compelled to approach her. As the jogger was about to come face to face with the woman, another resident entered the park. She stated that her mobile phone rang and startled jogger and the stranger. The walker was able to snap a picture of the strange woman before she disappeared, leaving the jogger spellbound and unable to remember the encounter.
The faculty can confirm that the photo matches the description of a vampire known to haunt the village of Carlsbad. This is the first time she has been seen this far south of the village. Students are advised to take precautions such as carrying garlic or salt when venturing out at night.
